When to Use It

  • Use bar charts, line charts, scatter plots, pie charts, histograms, boxplots, heatmaps, maps, network graphs, or dashboards.
  • Use a consistent style for academic figures, business reports, modern screen presentations, or print-friendly output.
  • Generate charts from project files, DuckDB query results, or data analysis outputs.

Steps

  1. In the Data Visualization workspace, choose a chart package and then a style package. Charts include bar, line, econometric diagnostic, scatter, pie, histogram, boxplot, heatmap, map, network, and dashboard; styles include academic, monochrome, business, and modern.
  2. You can choose the chart and style manually, or describe the data, audience, and purpose so the Agent can choose a suitable combination.
  3. To review capabilities, open Settings → Skills and switch to the Data Visualization Agent. Built-in Skills sync automatically; use Import only to add templates.
  4. Enter a chart prompt with data location, variables, grouping dimensions, chart type, output format, and style requirements.
  5. Click the send button and let the Data Visualization Agent prepare plotting data, generate chart files, and explain the chart definition.

Acceptance Checks

The chart must be readable on its own. Title, variables, units, sample scope, data definition, and output location should be clear. For paper writing, also provide a figure caption and an interpretable finding.
